"A free and responsible search for truth and meaning."

The owl is the seeker of truth. He can do so freely because his wings let him fly. He can do so responsibly because he is wise. The flowers represent truth and meaning. There is more than one because there is more than one truth.

The branches could also be seen as representing the fact that you can take many different paths to get to the same truth, while at the same time a single path can lead to many different truths.
